Watch Me Fly Academy exists to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of aviators.
Michael Uzuanis founded Watch Me Fly Academy because he believes aviation changes people — that learning to fly builds confidence, discipline, humility and a level of personal responsibility few other pursuits can match. The Academy was built differently on purpose: it does not measure success by how many students it enrolls, but by how many safe, knowledgeable, confident pilots it sends into the aviation community.
That shows up in how students train. Rather than accumulating hours in a single airplane, students fly nearly every major maneuver in two modern glass-cockpit aircraft and rehearse the emergencies that matter in an FAA-approved Redbird LD simulator. Smart Path packages combine those three platforms at fixed, published pricing significantly below the national average, so nobody discovers the real number halfway through.
And the path does not stop at a certificate. Top-performing students may go on to instruct with Watch Me Fly Academy and, from there, fly aerial sightseeing for Sky Tour Adventures — a complete route from student pilot to professional aviator inside one family of aviation companies. Alongside it, the Watch Me Fly Foundation runs scholarships, mentorship and community events for young people who might not otherwise get near an airplane.

Trained for the day it goes wrong
Every Smart Path student gets spin awareness, spin recovery and upset recovery training in our Cessna A150M Aerobat — firsthand experience recovering from situations most pilots only discuss in a classroom. Engine failures, electrical and vacuum failures, lost comms and deteriorating weather are then rehearsed in Dexter, our FAA-approved Redbird simulator, until the correct response is second nature.

Two aircraft and a simulator, not one airplane
Most schools train you almost entirely in a single airplane. Smart Path students fly nearly every major maneuver in both our glass-cockpit Cessna A150M Aerobat and our glass-cockpit Cessna 172, backed by an FAA-approved Redbird LD — so you leave comfortable in more than one cockpit, at a cost well below the national average.

Chief Flight Instructor Robert Greene earned his instructor certification in 1993 and oversees instructor development, standardization and curriculum quality here. Beside him is a team holding CFI, CFII and MEI ratings.

A path that does not end at the checkride
Top-performing graduates have a direct track to instruct with Watch Me Fly Academy, and from there to fly revenue aerial sightseeing for Sky Tour Adventures, our sister operation. Instead of competing with thousands of outside applicants for a first flying job, you have a pipeline right where you trained.

We train in scenario-based environments built for real proficiency, not for passing a checkride. That is the standard the whole school is organized around.

The point of training this way is not variety for its own sake. Engine failures, electrical and vacuum failures, instrument malfunctions, deteriorating weather, lost communications and spatial disorientation can be practiced in Dexter until the correct response is automatic — including with live air traffic control simulation for radio work. Students then arrive at each flight lesson better prepared, which makes every paid hour in the airplane count.
