What flight training costs
A Private Pilot certificate at Watch Me Fly Academy costs $12,845 — one fixed Smart Path package price, published before you start. That covers 60 hours of training across our glass-cockpit Cessna A150M Aerobat, our glass-cockpit Cessna 172 and our FAA-approved Redbird simulator, plus 30 hours of instructor time, the Sporty’s Learn to Fly course, FAA written-test preparation and endorsement, spin and upset recovery training, a final mock checkride and the aircraft rental for your FAA practical test (up to 3 flight hours). The Instrument Rating package is $8,845 and the Commercial package is $7,614 on the same basis. Many traditional flight schools quote $16,000–$22,000 for the Private certificate alone.

The number is agreed before you fly.
There is no running meter here. What the four sections below decide is what sits inside the Smart Path price and what you budget for separately.
What's inside
the price, and
what isn't
The Smart Path package is one fixed number. These four sections say exactly what that number buys, and the few costs that sit outside it.
- 1
What the package covers
The Smart Path price is fixed and covers aircraft, simulator and instructor time up to the included hours, the Sporty’s ground course, written-test prep and endorsement, a final mock checkride, and the aircraft rental for your FAA practical test (up to 3 flight hours).
- 2
If you need more hours
Every student learns at a different pace and that is normal. Training beyond the included hours continues at discounted Smart Path member rates rather than at a second package price — $192/hr wet for the Cessna 172, $165/hr wet for the Aerobat, $80/hr for the Redbird.
- 3
Frequency
Students who train consistently progress more efficiently, because they spend less time relearning skills. Flight operations run 6am to 10pm seven days a week and we keep aircraft and instructor availability ahead of demand, so a consistent schedule is actually achievable here.
- 4
Medical & materials
Plan separately for your FAA medical certificate, the FAA knowledge-test fee, the examiner’s fee for your practical test, and personal equipment such as a headset. These sit outside the package price.
Package prices above are from our published Smart Path brochure and are subject to change — call 737-256-7305 to confirm current pricing before you enroll. Discounted additional-training rates are available exclusively to students enrolled in the Smart Path program; Commercial students fly at $135/hr dry in the Cessna 172 and $110/hr dry in the Cessna A150M Aerobat.
